Conversion to organic farming in Bargemon
Viticulture that respects nature
Since 2023, Domaine Le Petit Fils has been committed to a conversion to organic farming.
Soil work is carried out using inter-row cultivation, vine shoots are crushed to naturally enrich the organic matter, and fertilization is provided by composted sheep manure. Inputs are reduced to the strict minimum and irrigation is not practiced.
This approach aims to preserve the balance of the soil and the authentic expression of the terroir.
The role of the oenologist
The profession of an oenologist can be compared to that of a conductor. Hugo receives the grapes at harvest, closely monitors the fermentations, carries out the blending, and decides on the ideal time for bottling.
Every decision influences the balance and character of the wine. This meticulous work ensures consistent quality and reveals the full aromatic richness of the estate’s cuvées.

A vineyard perched at 480 meters altitude
Located at 480 meters above sea level, the village of Bargemon enjoys a warm and sunny climate, tempered by the cool nights characteristic of the Haut-Var.
The average annual temperature is 13.3°C, with dry and bright summers. In July, the average remains moderate, around 22.6°C, which helps preserve the natural acidity of the grapes and produce fresh, balanced wines.
